Q&A with Dr. Alifa Bandali on anti-Muslim hate
With the continuing emergence of anti-Muslim sentiments during the pandemic, I spoke with Dr. Alifa Bandali, a lecturer in UBC’s Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Justice, about her research on anti-Muslim hate, how the pandemic has shaped perspectives towards the Muslim community, and what Muslim women are doing to expand their representation in society. Additionally, I created the original illustration.
