UBC Library’s Colour Our Collections campaign
Experience history at the tip of your pencil crayons! UBC Library’s digital colouring books aim to inspire creativity and spark curiosity through the art found in our digital and physical collections. We are joining the New York Academy of Medicine Library and others to offer this unique way to engage with library content.
I was the creative lead and was in charge of liaising with numerous special collections librarians and subject matter experts. I worked closely with the director on the concept and with the Communications Strategist on the web design.
Landing Page
The goal of the landing page was for the main content to be “The Download Library”. For that section, the idea was to mimic a bookshelf so that viewers can download our digital colouring books off the shelf.
It was important that there was a spotlight section so that we can pull the focus towards our latest digital colouring book and to educate our followers about the numerous collections and resources available.
Mythical Creatures digital colouring books
Award-winning campaign
UBC Library’s Mythical Creatures digital colouring books won 1st place in the 2019 IFLA International Marketing Award. After I reaching out to the New York Academy of Medicine Library, the Mythical Creatures digital colouring book submission made UBC Library an official participating institution.
About the collection
After conducting a colouring book environmental scan, we’ve come to decide on illustrated animals in medicine books. I collaborated with UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections Librarian, to gather Harry Potter-themed creatures.
Maps and Landscapes digital colouring books
Resource for UBC Thrive month
With our growing collection of colouring books, I took the initiative to reach out to several campus partners such as: UBC Brand and Marketing, UBC Wellness, UBC Internal Communications, and more for their support. As of 2019, UBC Library’s digital colouring books is promoted as a resource for UBC Wellness’ Thrive month in October.
About the collection
